I have 15 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in education, private practice, and early intervention settings assessing and treating children aged birth-21 years with speech, language, and communication disorders as well as training parents and teachers in communication strategies, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

Experience

Speech-Language Pathologist Private Practice

  • Provides speech and language services to children aged 2-12 years with articulation, phonological, language, and communicaiton disorders

  • Provides formal speech and language evaluations and treatment base don the individual needs of the chid.

  • Collaborates with school team and family members on articulation goals and objectives and implementation of receptive and expressive language concepts; and

  • Provides augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) evaluation, therapy, and parent-based trainings.

School-Aged, Speech-Language Pathologist/AAC Specialist/Assistive Technology Professional (ATP)

  • Provides formal augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessments and comprehensive written reports including background information, high-tech device and software trials, AAC goals and recommendations for funding to Insurance companies and school districts;

  • Collaborates with team members for assessment and implementation based on the student’s access, mobility, seating, visual, and hearing needs; and

  • Provides device-specific and parent AAC trainings, in-services, and real-time coaching to implement aided language in the classroom

Early Intervention

  • ​Establishes predictable routines and strategies to facilitate verbal speech and non-verbal communications using gestures and visual supports to aid in language development; and

  • Trains and coaches family members on techniques used to ensure generalization.
