I have 15 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an education as well as private practice setting treating children aged 3-21 years with speech, language, and communication disorders. I have valuable knowledge and expertise in working with students with various levels of disabilities in the areas of

  • articulation,

  • phonology,

  • apraxia (trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets PROMPT: Level 1),

  • ASL (Baby Sign Teacher Certification from Signing Time Academy),

  • oral motor,

  • receptive and expressive language,

  • social skills/pragmatic language,

  • augmentative and alternative communication (AAC Certification completed June 2020), and

  • parent training (trained in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk July, 2021), and

  • experienced in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS),

 

I have Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display (PODD) training and have extensive experience using communication applications such as Proloquo2Go, Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), TD Snap, and TouchChat.

I currently work as an SLP/AAC Specialist at Pillar High School, East Hanover, NJ. My current responsibilities include,

  • Gathering case history,

  • Performing AAC assessments,

  • Developing appropriate communication goals and objectives,

  • Report writing,

  • Working with regional device representatives and insurances to recommend and obtain devices appropriate for the students,

  • Implementing AAC strategies and practices, and

  • Training staff and parents on the most current, evidence-based communication and AAC strategies and practices.

 

I value the importance of open communication with family members and team collaboration in the area of speech-language pathology. Currently, I work closely with the school occupational therapists, physical therapists, teachers, and team members providing them with the communication skills and training needed to perform the most successful communication interaction with each student.

 

I am a current resident of Hanover Township and have lived here for the last 9 years.

With my knowledge and experience in all areas of speech, language, and communication, as well as my team and community approach, I believe I would be a great asset to your child.
